The Last Dinner Roll Recipe You Will Ever Need

Give

The Last Dinner Roll Recipe you will ever make sounds like a big boast, but honestly it’s the truth, at least for me!  I have been through MANY different recipes, and had several that I LIKED, but the first time I made these rolls I knew I was sold.  I had to have a quick recipe for my baby sister’s wedding, because I had promised to make 100 rolls and of course forgot about it until the night before.  I called up my sister Aubrey for help, because she is a master at bread, and she didn’t disappoint.  Every single time I’ve made this recipe we devour them.  The dough also makes great cinnamon rolls if you just roll it out after the first rise, sprinkle your filling of choice, roll up- cut and let rise again in the pan.  Delicious!

Ingredients

3 Cups warm water

1/4 Oil (or soft butter if you aren’t dairy free and love butter)

2 T Yeast

1 T Salt

1/2 cup Sugar (you can cut this down if you want, I’ve made it with less and it tastes fine)

7 Cups Flour

Instructions

Mix water, sugar, and yeast together and let sit until foamy (2-3 minutes)

Add oil and mix well

Add 1/2 of flour in and mix well

Add the rest of the flour in one cup at a time until dough is workable (not too sticky and pulling away from the sides of the bowl)

Knead until Smooth

Let rise 2o min or so (in a pinch you can let them rise for less, but the longer the better)

Coat hands with oil (dough should be a bit sticky) and shape into 24 balls and place into a 9×14 baking pan

(when shaping I pinch a section a little bigger than a golf ball and pinch it at the bottom until I have a nice round smooth top)

Rise 30-45 min

Then Bake for 16 min at 350 or until golden brown on top
