This morning as we were driving home from carpool, my littlest asked me to turn off the song that was playing. We frequently change the channel when a song has a bad word, or a message I don’t agree with, and we always discuss why I changed the channel or turned off the radio. But this morning I was a little surprised, because the older kids were out of the car and she’s only 4. But I promptly turned off the song. “Why didn’t you like that song” I asked her? “Because it said ‘I don’t want to go home’ in it Mami, and that made me sad”.
We continued to talk about why she liked to be at home, and why I liked to be at home, and the whole conversation made me smile. The gist of the conversation was that home makes her happy. And you know what? Home makes me happy too! What brings me true joy is knowing that my little efforts to make our home a place where my family can feel happiness are succeeding! If even the littlest in our home can appreciate those efforts then I am truly doing my job.
Home is TRULY where the HAPPY is 🙂
I’ve come up with a new job title for one of the many hat’s I wear as a mother. I am a “happymaker”. My job, and my greatest pleasure is to bring happiness to my family. Whether we are stay at home Mom’s struggling for Validation, or working moms struggling to find a balance, its only through creating an atmosphere where we can all be comfortable and happy together that we can truly find peace at home.
So? How do we do it? Amidst all of the crazy, the bickering, the exhaustion, and the busy…how do we MAKE our Homes our happy place? How do we create that atmosphere of Happiness that makes our children and spouses glad to be there? Well, I am asking YOU to answer that question for me! Respond in the comments here or on Facebook or Instagram and share what your family does to keep that Happy spirit in your home. Use the Hashtag #Happymaker!
I may contact you to interview you specifically and feature your family, and I will follow up with a post sharing all of your lovely ideas!

Jennifer Haden - aw, I love this! A happymaker, that’s a great way to put it. Home is definitely the happiest place for me at the moment. It’s unfortunate many can’t feel that, but to those that can, it’s a major blessingNovember 22, 2015 – 4:17 am
