Everyday Creative’s Project 52 – Week 35

Photography Project 52 – Week 35 – Old

What is Project 52? – Take one picture this week using the weekly theme of Old to prompt your creativity.

  •  Why do it? – We hope to improve our picture taking skills, become more creative & make friends in the process!

  •  Weekly themes will be posted each Thursday morning.  You are encouraged to share your images in the comments and on our Facebook page, or Facebook group.  All skill levels are welcome as this is an opportunity to share and learn together no matter when we start out.  We’ll do shout outs and favorite shares from the prior weeks assignments on Facebook and on our weekly theme articles.

Old is one of my very favorite topics!  Love old and textured things to photograph.  It is always so much fun imagining the story behind older items.  Then there is just the whole visual texture that looks so cool in photography.  Heidi’s images this week are of letters her friend found.  They are love letters between her parents.  How cool is that.  Tied up just like this and tucked away.  What a treasure!!

These clogs belonged to Kesti’s mom.  Now Kesti has them and she thinks of her mom every time she slips her feet into them. Welcome thoughts indeed!EC-Kesti-Prog52-wk35-old-2

This picture reminds me of my teen years when we would find random couches and chairs dumped in the desert.  As teens it was always fun to be our cool ‘photographer’ selves and get cool pictures using the abandoned furniture.  Here, Kesti’s boys have found an abandoned couch with the perfect view of the Wasatch mountains!

Love this leaning barn of Richard’s.  Definitely looked at it a few times to see if the barn was leaning or the camera took the image crooked.  lol

My shot this week is one very old family item and one fairly new/old family item.  The case is my grandmothers sewing case.  She sewed all of her own clothes from a very young age until she was about 70 years old.  Her clothing was always perfectly fitted to her body and she always looked fantastic.   I miss her.  A lot.  So I took of my very beat up wedding ring and photographed it with her case to represent family.  We are together as a family in heart and we will meet again after death.  She will be one of the first people I want to see with her eyes that were always focused on family with love and devotion.

Hope your quest to capture something old turns out to be very meaningful for you this week.  As always, would love to see your images!!!

Please feel free to jump on board with Everyday Creative’s Project 52 anytime!  We would love to see your images for this weeks prompt of  Eyes!  Share in the comments, on our Facebook page or join our Facebook group.
