Everyday Creative’s Project 52 – Week 30

Photography Project 52 – Week 30 – Jump

What is Project 52? – Take one picture this week using the weekly theme of Jump to prompt your creativity.

  •  Why do it? – We hope to improve our picture taking skills, become more creative & make friends in the process!

  •  Weekly themes will be posted each Thursday morning.  You are encouraged to share your images in the comments and on our Facebook page, or Facebook group.  All skill levels are welcome as this is an opportunity to share and learn together no matter when we start out.  We’ll do shout outs and favorite shares from the prior weeks assignments on Facebook and on our weekly theme articles.

Personally, I am a huge huge HUGE fan of jumping pictures.  My clients know this well as I usually try to get them to do it at least in one of their sessions.  They are fun and there is such an expression of personality in jumps.  Everyone does it differently and most people find joy and a bit of an adrenaline rush when they do it.  One of my favorite photographers specializes in jump images.  You can find him on Flikr here.  His photo stream is peppered with a lot of jump pictures, many using off camera flash to make them really pop.

Because I really could not decide, here are my kids jumping for me this morning!  The twins were doing some kind of dress up imaginative play before they kindly consented to jump for me.  Love how Landon came out and did a perfect photobomb too!  Love that super high jump my little 4 year old did!  See all those exclamation points?!?!  Jump pictures make you excited.  Have fun doing your own jump pictures this week and see what I mean.

Heidi got this great expression of excitement and feeling of fun in the sun!

Kesti is taking over the commentary for the last two.

I think my Dad’s picture should be titled, “Don’t Jump!”, instead.  These twin brothers are up on a hill, as you can tell by how far down the road looks.  The first brother thought it would be fun to swan dive off the top and the brother behind has quite literally “got his back”, by holding him safely there.

I love images depicting movement: running, dancing, playing and jumping. They are dynamic and make me feel energized just by looking at them.  The facial expressions that usually accompany these types of movements are my favorite.  Not that you can see my son’s facial expression in this week’s picture, but I assure you, it was animated.
