Project 52 – Week 7 – Catchlights

Shannon picked this week’s photo assignment.  I have to admit, with all Shannon’s knowledge and experience, that I was a bit apprehensive while waiting to see what she would choose.  I was decidedly relieved when I saw that it was catchlights!  It’s always been fairly easy to get catchlights in the eyes of a certain dark, dark, dark, brown-eyed 5 year old daughter of mine.  I had everything ready to go when she came home from school one day this week.  The light was perfect, my battery was charged, I told her it would take less than 5 minutes.  My sweet, little kindergartener had plans of her own.  I know it may sound ridiculous, but I feel certain her plan was to destroy my every attempt at a picture that included her eyes.  It was as if she knew what I was after.  Instead of the usual pouty mouth, she squinted until her eyes all but disappeared!  IMPOSSIBLE!

Enter the teenager . . . so much easier!

Kesti’s sweet boys were equally as un-enamored with her camera this week, as G was with mine.  Luckily she has friends who rush to her aid in such times of crisis.  You may not see it here.  You may not see it today.  But she has a dog who is eager to please.  I saw from her blog that catchlights were to be had in Finley’s eyes.

Richard’s image is wonderful with the sky and lashes all in great detail.  Love the pop of red on the left too!

 

Babies are always a favorite and newborns rarely connect well with the camera.  Shannon was able to get this super sweet boy both connected and with an animated expression.

With Valentine’s day upon us, we decided to go with ‘red’ for this week’s assignment.  I’m hoping to see you share some pictures with us too!
