Everyday Creative’s Project 52 – Week 34

Photography Project 52 – Week 34 – Eyes

What is Project 52? – Take one picture this week using the weekly theme of Eyes to prompt your creativity.

  •  Why do it? – We hope to improve our picture taking skills, become more creative & make friends in the process!

  •  Weekly themes will be posted each Thursday morning.  You are encouraged to share your images in the comments and on our Facebook page, or Facebook group.  All skill levels are welcome as this is an opportunity to share and learn together no matter when we start out.  We’ll do shout outs and favorite shares from the prior weeks assignments on Facebook and on our weekly theme articles.

Eyes are the window to the soul.  So much of our communication, especially emotional, is done through our eyes.  For the inspiration images this week, you’ll see a variety of expressions and framing that bring focus, emotion and drama to the images.

Heidi’s daughter has the most beautiful color and texture variations in her eyes.  Between the two images captured there is a big difference in how the light plays with the color in her eyes and her skin.  Super cool!

Sometimes images stick with us like the famous image of the Afghan girl featured on National Geographic.  I remember seeing that image as a kid and it has always had the most amazing impact.  Kesti had a similar experience as she kept coming back to this image as she was taking her inspiration images.  We decided to share it again.

This new image of Kesti’s brings me joy.  Strait up joy.  The power of images to affect our mood never ceases to amaze me!

Richard’s use of shadow, cropping and timing gives this image a creepy cinematic vibe.  I can just imagine him furtively looking for the danger he senses.

This child of mine not only has the prettiest cornflower blue eyes, but he also has amazing eye lashes.  I’m always capturing his eyes open, so this time we went for an eye closed look that represents his sweet and sensitive spirit.

This boy on the other hand is my wild child.  He is the class clown, the jumper, the smarty pants, the overly dramatic one.  He and I had a bit of a power struggle to get some shots of him, and even though we ended up with some really cute smiley ones, this one spoke to me.  It has to be frustrating to be a 4 year old with a 6 year olds body and an almost 6 year olds mind.  He understands so much, but he really only has four years of experiences under his belt.

Hope your quest to capture eyes turns out to be very meaningful for you this week.  As always, would love to see your images!!!
