Photography Project 52 – Week 28 – Red, White and Blue

What is Project 52? – Take one picture this week using the weekly theme of Peaceful to prompt your creativity.

  •  Why do it? – We hope to improve our picture taking skills, become more creative & make friends in the process!

  •  Weekly themes will be posted each Thursday morning.  You are encouraged to share your images in the comments and on our Facebook page, or Facebook group.  All skill levels are welcome as this is an opportunity to share and learn together no matter when we start out.  We’ll do shout outs and favorite shares from the prior weeks assignments on Facebook and on our weekly theme articles.

Since Independence Day just passed we thought this would be a wonderful prompt to keep our hearts and minds turned towards national patriotism.  There are so many things about our lovely United States of America that we all love and appreciate.  I’m personally very thankful my in laws decided to immigrate to this country so my husband and I could meet!!  Our kids are now dual citizens of the USA and Australia giving them lots of amazing options for living and work.  National pride and finding ways to support our country is very important to me.

Kesti picked the quintessential symbol of American sports with baseball!  The great American past time.  I love the beat up balls and how the symbolize the fun, dedication and competitiveness the kids are experiencing as they experience this great team sport.

Heidi said the barn was painted with this flag shortly after 9/11.  This lovely act of American solidarity still stands almost 15 years later.  Very cool.

Richard captured this sweet helicopter that amazing Americans use to help their fellow man.  People that do this kind of work are pretty awesome.

My niece bought the kids a $10 box of fireworks.  With their late bedtime, we set them off while it was still light out, which makes for easy picture taking!  Our oldest boy, behind the smoke, got a bit scared and ran for the front door a few times.  The other two stayed as close as we allowed them the entire time, filled with excitement and wonder.
